Within the opening minutes Bures managed to beat Cornard’s defence to put the home side 1-0 down and unfortunately things did not improve.  Despite some flashes of good football Cornard did not up their game sufficiently and Bures took advantage of this in the second half to score another goal.  Owen Martin had some powerful shots on goal but they couldn’t be converted.  Man of the match was awarded to Tom Clarke for some good saves.

MAX HARRINGTON celebrated his 16th birthday with the goal that sent Saints on the way to victory in this hard-fought U16s A League encounter at Stanway School.

Clacton made a lively start but Saints settled to have the edge.

 The home side also began the second half on top but the woodwork denied Clacton a goal before Harrington steered Saints into the lead.

 Adam Farraday wrapped up the points with a neat chip near the end.
