Calling All Under 7’s & Under 8’s Teams
As part of our players’ development in football, we are looking to arrange friendlies and hold multi-team tournaments throughout the 2010/2011 Season. To allow the players to get used to playing against other teams and in different formats, we are looking to hold both 4v4 and 7v7 matches/tournaments which will give them a better understanding of team play. All matches and tournaments will be played on a non-competitive basis, in line with FA Guidelines and for the most part be pretty informal in terms of length of games, format of games etc which we can discuss either prior to, or on the day. We plan to have our first Mini Tournament for the Under 7’s and Under 8’s on Saturday 18^th September, starting at 11am and should last no longer than 2 hours. Entry will be a nominal amount to cover cost of the field area used, likely £10 per club. Format will likely be somewhere in the region of 4 v 4 to 7 v 7, depending on the number of players, we want to ideally have it working so there are no subs and everyone is playing a game, be it 4 v 4 on one pitch whilst a 7 v 7 is being played on another pitch. Tempest Under 16's are looking for pre-season friendly's on the Sundays leading up to the start of the New Season. We are prepared to travel outside our own CDYL area and will share any Pitch and Referee fees. Please contact Mark on 07794 030828

I run the sports facilities at Sir Charles Lucas Sports Centre (soon to be Colchester Academy Sports Centre). We have lost a few teams recently and are therefore likely to have some pitches available for the new season for teams looking for a home pitch. I know there is generally a shortage of pitches in the borough so I thought I would get in touch to let you know.

This will take place 0945-1030am on Rowhedge Recreation Ground saturday mornings from 24th July. With experienced, qualified and CRB checked coaches (one female). We are a youth club with access to a Football pitch on Fordham Heath, Eight Ash Green which has basic Pavilion facilities (Not good enough for FA senior clubs but may suffice for a youth team) but we need volunteers to run a team.
